Questions we get the most
What if I only have a vague idea?
What if I only have a vague idea?
That is honestly how most people start, so you are in good company. Describe your idea or share a reference, and just a budget. We will get on a call and do the narrowing down with you on the call. We have design experts, production experts, and gemologists on the team.
How long does a custom piece take?
How long does a custom piece take?
From the moment you approve the CAD, we consistently deliver in 25 days. The brief and design-consult stage moves at your pace.
Any special current events can affect this timeline.
What grades can I get?
What grades can I get?
We usually put only D, E, and F colors and VS and VVS clarity in all our pieces, so you never have to worry about ending up with a weaker stone. However, if you would like to explore other grades, a custom consultation is exactly where we can talk that through, openly.
Will I see the design before anything is made?
Will I see the design before anything is made?
Yes, always. We model your piece in 3D so you can see it from every angle before it exists. Nothing is cut or cast until you have looked at the render, checked the full breakdown of stone, setting, and price, and told us you are happy.
What metals and stones can I work with?
What metals and stones can I work with?
You have plenty of room here. We work in 10k, 14k, 18k, and 22k white, yellow gold, rose gold, and black gold, as well as platinum and silver, and we can build around most gemstones available on the market. If you have something specific in mind, tell us, and we will let you know what is possible.
Does it cost more to design something custom?
Does it cost more to design something custom?
Happily, no. Because we source straight from our makers and only build once you have ordered, a custom piece usually costs about the same as the pieces already on our site. You will see the exact price on your CAD quote, and nothing is decided until you are comfortable with it.
When do I actually pay?
When do I actually pay?
There is a $30 design fee when you are ready to begin, and it goes straight toward your final purchase. You only pay for the piece itself after you have seen the CAD render and approved the price. If it helps, we also offer a split option: half upfront and half on dispatch.
